The next episode of the podcast is going to tackle that most-sticky of questions, "What is art?"

Well, probably not "tackle" it—I don't think defining art (or Art) is something that can be done within the confines of a podcast (if at all)—but we're certainly going to try to get our arms around it.

Due to some scheduling conflicts, we're not going to be able to record this episode until Tuesday, May 11 2010 at the earliest, which gives you an opportunity to contribute to the discussion. Here are a few things we'll likely be touching on:

    • Can video games be art? Yes, we're going to render our opinions on that ever-so-touchy of subjects. If you're unfamiliar with the debate, read Video games can never be art by Roger Ebert.
    • How important is the medium? Paintings, sculpture and music are recognized art forms, but is there a medium of expression that is not and cannot be considered art (other than video games, I mean)?
    • What about longevity and exposure? Is the best meatball sandwich ever assembled by the hand of Man disqualified because only I experienced it and it is now gone forever?
    • Anything else. What else should we be considering and/or including in our discussion?
